For over 20 years, Mike Gruszka has called Lakeshore home — raising his two children here, coaching local youth, and building a career dedicated to keeping this community safe and well-run. After more than three decades with the Ontario Provincial Police, including years as Detachment Commander for the Lakeshore OPP Detachment, Mike traded his badge for a different kind of public service: hands-on municipal leadership.
Now in his 5th year as a municipal bylaw enforcement manager, Mike understands municipal government from the inside out — drafting policy, preparing departmental budgets, and appearing before council on the issues that matter to residents. It’s a career built on service, and he’s ready to bring that same steady, experienced hand to Ward 3 Council.

Mike brings three decades of frontline and administrative law enforcement experience, including his time as Detachment Commander for the Lakeshore OPP Detachment. He’s spent 5+ years in hands-on municipal management, preparing departmental budgets and appearing before council. And after 20+ years as a resident, coach, and volunteer, he’s invested in this community in ways that go far beyond a campaign.

Mike’s record speaks for itself. Named 2026 Coach of the Year for his work with the Lakeshore Lightning girls hockey organization, and honoured with the Mary Ann Pinsonneault Award for outstanding volunteer service, Mike has spent years giving back both on and off the ice.
Professionally, his 30+ year policing career included serving as Detachment Commander for the Lakeshore detachment, managing municipal policing agreements and budgets. He’s now in his 6th year as municipal by-law manager — experience that translates directly to the work of a Ward 3 councillor.
